Girls-Hellhole Ratrace

im sick and tired of the way that i feel,
im sick of dreaming and its never for real.
im all alone with my deep thoughts.
im all alone with my heartache and my good intentions.

i work to eat and drink and sleep just to live,
feels like im never getting back what i give.
ive got a sad song in my sweet heart.
and all i really am is needing some love and attention.

and i dont want to cry my whole life through,
i want to do some laughing too.
so come on, come on, come on, come on, laugh with me.
and i dont want to die without shaking up a thing or two,
yeah, i want to do some dancing too.
so come on, come on, come on, come on, dance with me.

sometimes youve just gotta make it for yourself.
sometimes sugar, it just takes someone else.
sometimes youve just gotta make it for yourself.
sometimes baby, you just need someone else.

and i dont want to cry my whole life through
i want to do some laughing too
so come on, come on, come on, come on, laugh with me.
and i dont want to die without shaking up a thing or two
yeah, i want to do some dancing too
so come on, come on, come on, come on, dance with me.

sometimes youve just gotta make it for yourself.
sometimes honey, it just takes someone else.
sometimes youve just gotta make it for yourself.
sometimes darling, you just need someone else.

and i dont want to cry my whole life through
i want to do some laughing too
so come on, come on, come on, come on, laugh with me.
and i dont want to die without shaking up a thing or two
yeah, i want to do some dancing too
so come on, come on, come on, come on, dance with me.

Saturday 26 March 2011

another sunny day.

Screw that. Life is shit, for real. Just when you think things have gotten better, life finds the perfect way to trick you again. You might think, it's alright, it's just another trick, just one out of the million, this is only one day out of my whole life. You might not care if your parents tell you that you're criticising them too harsh, but you're not,and they think you are. But there are people who do care. There are people who don't want to add their parents to their pile of miseries, and just want to discuss and not criticise.Cause, really, sometimes you wanna tell them, Hello, there's something bigger going on here, it's not only what you know, and even worse, what you think you know. What's that bigger thing going on? It's not like you have an easy answer for that, even if they ask you. But it's still there.
My brother writes poems. Really beautiful and sad poems, about a girl in his class. Damn,he didn't want to show the poems to us, his family, but he went and gave it to his class and his teachers. He took part in a poem and literature competition or something, without even telling us. Thank lord, my mum has those crazy ideas of messing up with our stuff and a tendency of searching them when we're not around. God knows how much I hate her when she does that. And she worked her magic once again, and found the poem and read it. And all she could say with tears on her eyes was "Could you ever imagine the little one had so much pain in his heart?" And yeah mum i can bloody imagine that. I've fucking been there, you've fucking been there and try to remember that and don't you dare say you have not. It's been three fucking years now I'm hiding that exact same pain. Haven't you noticed? It was only a year ago when you found my blog with my poems and my stories, my heartbroken stuff, and you made me delete it all. I wanna move on, but can't.

Careful there, you're treading on my dreams.

day 330

Day 330? Already? Nope. I am definitely not avoiding my challenge duties XD
As you can see, I update that thingy on the left, with all the titles and stuff. I just haven't found the time for the whole critic or something. Here, tomorrow is a national holiday. So it's not as if I have nothing else to do,but I just found a couple of minutes to do this. Enough of me blabbering about it.

#479 Zombieland
I did watch this right after Shaun of the dead... Which made me change my opinion on the worst movie ever subject. I found Zombieland so lame, and so overamericanised. If such word exists. So it just made me do the comparison between the two, and at least Shaun of the dead had some cool stuff in it. Zombieland was so based on that romance, and even zombies were disgusting. I mean, zombies are meant to be disgusting, but ... aaaarrrrgggghh I can't fucking explain this. Main actors: Emma Stone(the Easy A girl,I really really like her in general),Abigail Breslin(the Little Miss Sunshine girl,I like her too),Jesse Eisenberg(you know, the guy from Social Network-which I haven't seen:P-,or from Adventureland----am I the only one that confuses this guy with Michael Cera from Juno?I can't explain this!)
Now I've got like 6 movies left to review...  -_-'

I think I've fallen in love with Amsterdam :)

Yep, that's right! Been there for the past three days, and I enjoyed every single minute of it. I've decided that's the city I'd like to live in,but of course it comes after London... It's love, innit?
Random facts:
The Netherlands is often referred to as Holland, but Holland is the name of only two of its twelve provinces...Tricky huh?

Most of the land is lower than the sea level, that's why it's called the Netherlands...There are places around 6 metres below sea level!

Amstel beer got its name from the river Amstel:P

45% of the people who live in Amsterdam(or the whole country?) are atheists!

Dutch people are using bicycles more than every other country in the world. There even is a three level bike garage in the middle of the city! Truth be told, I wouldn't recognise my bike, if I was in their place.

There are "coffee shops" everyfuckingwhere! And by coffee shops, I do not mean normal cafeterias, I mean those tiny little psychedelic shops selling weed. And space cakes. Hell yeah.

Dutch guys can be really cool. Like really really cool. Like that guy, from the Amsterdam Hard Rock Cafe. Believe me, he was one hell of a guy. *blush* Imagine: Jackson Rathbone's eyes, piercings, cute and sexy at the same time. Ahhh I'd fall for that guy.

Dutch people are so willing to help tourists. Greeks would probably even start laughing at somebody who had taken the wrong tram but in greek,as he wouldnt understand them. Huge difference.

Do not let any other man to book the hotel you're staying in for you. Even if it is considered to be quite a good company or something. You might end up staying in a hotel so far from the centre, that it will not be on any map you buy. Yes, shit happens.

There is a kind of cheese made in Holland that is green. I didn't know about that! Go ahead and try it,it's delicious.

Do not trust completely books containing information about the place you're visiting. If you choose to go and eat to the restaurant the book is recomending, always have a second choice, or you might end up wandering around in the middle of the night. Live music programmes can be actually changed from sunday to saturday.Yep, that happened as well.

"I am the boy who never finished high school, because I got called a fag everyday. I am the girl kicked out of her home because I confided in my mother that I am a lesbian. I am the prostitute working the streets because nobody will hire a transsexual woman. I am the sister who holds her gay brother tight through the painful, tear-filled nights. We are the parents who buried our daughter long before her time. I am the man who died alone in the hospital because they would not let my partner of twenty-seven years into the room. I am the foster child who wakes up with nightmares of being taken away from the two fathers who are the only loving family I have ever had. I wish they could adopt me. I am not one of the lucky ones. I killed myself just weeks before graduating high school. It was simply too much to bear. We are the couple who had the realtor hang up on us when she found out we wanted to rent a one-bedroom for two men. I am the person who never knows which bathroom I should use if I want to avoid getting the management called on me. I am the mother who is not allowed to even visit the children I bore, nursed, and raised. The court says I am an unfit mother because I now live with another woman. I am the domestic-violence survivor who found the support system grow suddenly cold and distant when they found out my abusive partner is also a woman. I am the domestic-violence survivor who has no support system to turn to because I am male. I am the father who has never hugged his son because I grew up afraid to show affection to other men. I am the home-economics teacher who always wanted to teach gym until someone told me that only lesbians do that. I am the woman who died when the EMTs stopped treating me as soon as they realized I was transsexual. I am the person who feels guilty because I think I could be a much better person if I didn’t have to always deal with society hating me. I am the man who stopped attending church, not because I don’t believe, but because they closed their doors to my kind. I am the person who has to hide what this world needs most, love. I am the person ashamed to tell my own friends I’m a lesbian, because they constantly make fun of them. I am the boy tied to a fence, beaten to a bloody pulp and left to die because two straight men wanted to “teach me a lesson.” Are you happy now society? If you believe that homophobia is wrong, feel free to reblog this."

day 339

Well it's been quite a long time since I last posted about a movie, innit? Here we go:
#481 Easy A
Comedy and romance, this movie is actually fun! Might be a classic teenage movie for some, but those who remember remarkably well that period of their lives, they will probably find themselves enjoying it...After a little white lie about losing her virginity gets out, a clean cut high school girl sees her life paralleling Hester Prynne's in "The Scarlet Letter," which she is currently studying in school - until she decides to use the rumor mill to advance her social and financial standing.
Emma Stone is pretty awesome, personally I loved her! Oh,and the guy from Gossip Girl is in this film too! Favourite scene?Obviously the one Emma/Olive is singing "Pocketful of sunshine"!
"Rhiannon: George is not a sexy name. George is like what you name your teddy bear, not the name you wanna scream out during climax." (This quote isnt really characteristic, but I have to keep in mind the statement *cough George cough*)

Breakfast club move ^_^

#480 Shaun of the dead
My first zombie movie ever! All I've got to say on this is that I'm not made for this kind of movies. A soon as I watched it,I was sure it was the worst thing ever filmed. That was probably wrong for me to say, taking under concideration imdb ratting's pretty high for this one. I do know people who liked it, but I just cannot see the point in this movie.
A man decides to turn his moribund life around by winning back his ex-girlfriend, reconciling his relationship with his mother, and dealing with an entire community that has returned from the dead to eat the living. Even if it seems like a horror movie, it is certainly not. Nor a comedy. Just something in between that leaves you with the thought that you just spent half of your free time watching this bullshit.
On the other hand,I find the cast really great, especially Nick Frost and Bill Nighy. I love them both, god bless The boat that rocked! WTF? Ok, ok, I know this looks weird. Thing is, I just went on imdb to double-check the names, and I just found out Bill Nighy is Davy Jones. What's wrong with me? I used to be(and still am probably) a huge fan of P.O.T.C., how come I didn't know that?
Yeaaah, back to our subject. Simon Pegg perhaps was the best actor for this role, I can't imagine the film without him. I didn't like it, but think about it. He played the classic british character who spends all day in the pub, even if zombies are everywhere. That's what I'm talking about. That's what I define as cool, haha!

Sunday 13 March 2011

Holy sh*t, it's apocalypse day.

You know who Jared Leto is,right? You know his band,30 seconds to mars and/or you have seen some of his movies, huh? Let's say that I had never,EVER,paid too much attention on his biography on imdb. Today, the time had finally come.

Biography forJared Leto

Date of Birth
26 December 1971, Bossier City, Louisiana, USA

Do you see that?THAT right there? The 1971 thingy? He is 40 years old and i had nooo idea whatsoever. Why is he 40 years old?He looks so young and he is hot. I mean, even generally and objectively speaking,he is,he bloody is! My mum is 42,does that mean she would be more likely to date Jared Leto than me?Nah,I just don't get it. It can't be. Total breakdown.
Second thing I noticed:Christian Bale,my all time favourite actor,is indeed 37.Which means he is three entire years younger than Leto. Who would have guessed? Next thing I'll discover,Jared Leto being a dad. You get my point, right?
Third-but lighter-heartattack came when I read he was engaged with Cameron Diaz. You probably already know that, but I did not...And she is one of those celebrities I officially hate. I don't like her at all and he was engaged to her. It's personal taste after all....
I'm going to see Jared Leto live. There is a scheduled concert of 30 seconds to mars on july, hooray:)
Let's hope my mum stays out of this, one fan of Leto is enough for this family, haha! I had to be born at least 5 years earlier...

Isobel Campbell & Mark Lanegan and Belle & Sebastian

I'll die listening to this. Or this:

Or this:

I live for Belle and Sebastian.Ironic huh?

Ola Podrida - Run Off the Road

I don't know what's with this song, but I love it. I mean,I found this the other day,and even if it's not the lyrics that I like so much,it's still there,it's just fucking perfect. It also makes me want to become a director. Hell yeah.

Wednesday 9 March 2011

day 345

#483 The adjustment bureau
Although i've heard the worse about this movie, i can't help thinking how unfair people can be. And yeah, it was somehow like when bourne met matrix and inception but that doesn't mean it was not good, you know? Starring Matt Damon as a politician and Emily Blunt as a ballerina, sounded interesting enough to me from the start. The film has to do with destiny, with the plans that "the Chairman" decides and whether or not we can change them. I can't deny there are some scenes very similar to those of matrix, but I wouldn't blame them of copying it. It combines romance and fiction in a nice way, without making too sci-fi or too lovey-dovey...

#482 Mr. Nobody
I don't have much time right now,so here you go:
In the year 2092, one hundred eighteen year old Nemo is recounting his life story to a reporter. He is less than clear, often times thinking that he is only thirty-four years of age. But his story becomes more confusing after he does focus on the fact of his current real age. He tells of his life at three primary points in his life: at age nine (when his parents divorced), age sixteen and age thirty-four. The confusing aspect of the story is that he tells of alternate life paths, often changing course with the flick of a decision at each of those ages. One life path has him ultimately married to Elise, a depressed woman who never got over the unrequited love she had for a guy named Stefano when she was a teenager and who asked Nemo to swear that when she died he would sprinkle her ashes on Mars. A second life path has him married to Jean. Their life is one of luxury but one also of utter boredom. And a third life path has him in a torrid romance with his step-sister Anna, the two who, as adults, would search for each other after having been torn apart as teenagers. These life paths also intersect, with the three women sometimes entering the alternate life in some other aspect. Are any of these lives real or are they all a figment of his imagination?

Once again, not my review, but it's so well written that I can only delete the one I just wrote just to copy this one:
"This genuinely mind blowing movie is an experience revolving around the notion of choice, the importance or futility of decisions, a complex story that questions randomness, and what our lives are made of. Illustrated by bribes of a science documentary enlightening us about concepts like time before and after the big bang, the extremely interesting superstition of the pigeon, the eventuality of the big crunch, the complexity of quantum mechanics and string theory. This is a journey into the human psyche and the ability to create and explore in our imagination all the possible moves, like a chess player, that would lead to different paths, different existences. Exceptionally imaginative, acutely funny and startling, this production reeks of intelligence and craftsmanship, breaks down linear storytelling into bits, only to shuffle the whole thing in a brilliantly orchestrated masterpiece. It reminded me of so many great experiences, from David Lynch movies to Jorge Luis Borges books, it's an exquisite bundle of intellect and emotion.

Choices, their meaning, why we choose this or that road through our lives, their consequences, whether we are aware of them of not. How many different lives could we be living ? Through the infinite possibilities facing each and every one of us, the good and the bad choices, every turn taken creates a new life, the most interesting of all is being alive. Chaos theory and butterfly effect to remind us how small we are in the randomness of the universe and yet so able to actively manifest the reality we desire. Nemo Nobody has to choose between leaving with his mother or stay with his father, the starting point of the exploration his available destinies. Unable to decide, he chooses both and takes us for a ride through an immensity of possible.
"

Well said from that review,Mr. Nobody is just SO unbelievably amazing. It entered my top 10 film list as soon as I finished watching it,not to mention it left me almost an hour in front of a completely black screen thinking about the greatness of images and ideas one single movie can express. After all,it's Jared Leto in it,how can it worth any less?

"Anna age 15: I want you.
Nemo age 16: I want you too.
Anna age 15: Forever.
Nemo age 16: Forever. There is no life without you.
"

Did I mention it's snowing?

At last! I'd trade my soul for an entire week like today. Snow. I bloody love snow. I love rain more, but snow still.

day 346

#485 Breakfast club
1985 movie(god,im way too young!),five high school students meet in detention, where they pour their hearts out to each other, and discover how they have a lot more in common than they thought. To the outside world they were simply the Jock, the Brain, the Criminal, the Princess and the Kook, but to each other, they would always be the Breakfast Club. Although I was expecting this movie to be, let's say, boring, it was actually good. The actors were really well chosen for their roles, each and every one of them acted so great that you can't avoid liking them in general. Detention and high school life may be themes used in films way too many times, but I think this movie deserves it. What makes this film rise above the rest is the character development. Every character in this film is three-dimensional. They all change, in one way or another, by the end of the film. Whether or not things remain the way they are long after this film ends is unknown, and that adds to the rama. The most important scene in this film is when the characters, as a group, all open up to one-another and describe the hell that their daily school routines are in a personal fashion. Nobody likes the role they must inevitably portray in the high-school scene, but the fact is, it is often inescapable. This film gives the viewer some insight into how the other people around them might have felt during that particular time in their lives.
"Andrew: We're all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it, that's all."

#484 Away we go
Well,I was reading some reviews on imdb and have a look at what I just found:
"This film is about an expecting couple who travels around the country to try to find a perfect place to start their family.
"Away We Go" is slow and plain. The characters and the story are not developed enough to make me care about them. I almost feel that the couple is being irresponsible by travelling around according to their moment's fancy. I just cannot connect with their mindset at all, and hence I find the whole film a pointless and tedious bore. The only redeeming feature is Maggie Gyllenhaal's enchanting performance as a new age person, which consolidates her already strong CV.
"Away We Go" is such a disappointment, especially when compared to the strength of Sam Mendes' last effort, "Revolutionary Road".
"
Truth be told,I can't agree more. Only Maggie's performance is good, she was chosen for that role, and she succeeds her purpose: she makes you hate her as a character. Oh, and Chris Messina is in this film, not that he has such a big part, but you know who he is,he played in Julie & Julia and in Devil, so I just have to like him.

"Tom Garnett: It's all those good things you have in you. The love, the wisdom, the generosity, the selflessness, the patience. The patience! At 3 A.M. when everyone's awake because Ibrahim is sick and he can't find the bathroom and he's just puked all over Katki's bed. When you blink, when you blink! And it's 5:30 and it's time to get up again and you know you're going to be tired all day, all week, all your fucking life. And you're thinking what happened to Greece? What happened to swimming naked off the coast of Greece? And you have to be willing to make the family out of whatever you have."

Post-It Love

day 351

At last!I just watched the rest of Where the wild things are,and all I have to say is:watch a trailer or something first, see if you're in the mood for this kind of movie, and then watch it.Cause if you don't really feel like seeing it,you won't enjoy it.At all. That's part of why I saw the first 10 minutes of the movie a week ago and got totally bored. But now that I watched the rest I know how wrong I was...It's not the storyline so much,it's the direction and the music. It's amazing, really. And if you do start watching it,and if you're just a little too emotional,be prepared for the perfect ending and keep some handkerchiefs close.

"Judith: You know what? You can't do that back to me. If we're upset, your job is not to get upset back at us. Our job is to be upset. If I get mad and wanna eat you, then you have to say: "Oh, okay. You can eat me. I love you. Whatever makes you happy, Judith." That's what you're supposed to do!"
"Max: There were some buildings... There were these really tall buildings, and they could walk. Then there were some vampires. And one of the vampires bit the tallest building, and his fangs broke off. Then all his other teeth fell out. Then he started crying. And then, all the other vampires said, "Why are you crying? Weren't those just your baby teeth?" And he said, "No. Those were my grown-up teeth." And the vampires knew he couldn't be a vampire anymore, so they left him. The end."

Wednesday 2 March 2011

day 352

and 352 movies as well.I'm kinda letting myself down, haven't watched a movie in days!(If you've notticed I have added the last movie yesterday,or even the day before, but i actually watched it on sunday). So things around here are still not good, everything's changing at the time.I'm having a hard time coping with my lessons, physics is just so fucking difficult.Only maths deserve it all.I can study maths forever.

I can't stop thinking about this song.Seriously.When I'm in class having to listen to some boring people who think they know everything, this song just pops up into my head.I just love it.Marcus,Laura, sing for me.Marry me.
Umm,this post is supposed to be about the movie I watched. It was You've got mail, which is a classic movie,I know, but I had never had the chance to watch it.I'm not really in the mood to go into it,bet half the universe has watched it already, maybe I'll post a picture or something when I have more time...(I really do have to go!:P)
So,yeah that's it for now....
